UML MP Padam Giri, who is leading the government, said that the revenue did not rise as per the target when customs were set. He alleged that government officials working in customs were involved in the setting.
In the meeting of the Finance Committee under the House of Representatives on Wednesday, MP Giri said that the answer to the question raised about the customs was never received. ``The customs staff will chase those who come and go with goods in Poco, but they will act as if they don't see those who come to the setting . Meanwhile, the revenue has not risen according to the government's target,' said Giri.
Giri also said that customs checkpoints are chaotic. He said that the customs situation is unstable due to the inability to build infrastructure.
Giri also said that the essential materials in the country have been stored in the customs. He said that the scan machines at the customs were damaged in a planned manner . Scan machines worth crores of investment have been damaged in collusion. Hand checking luggage is a matter of shame . I have raised this question repeatedly, the answer never came,' he said, 'the machine was damaged by collusion between employees, security personnel, agents, and traders.'
Parliamentarians have said that those who set customs and damage machines should be prosecuted . Officials of the security agencies are also participating in the committee.
