CPN (UML) MP Surya Bahadur Thapa, who is leading the government, has said that due to revenue leakage, it has not been able to meet the target. He said that there is a large amount of revenue leakage in the customs.
In Wednesday's meeting of the Finance Committee under the House of Representatives, MP Thapa said that the problem arose because the security system in customs could not work in an integrated manner.
'When you go to a customs office, 30 percent of the revenue is collected, the remaining 70 percent is leaked,' he said in the parliamentary committee, 'the revenue of daily consumables does not seem practical . It was seen that 40 percent of the revenue imposed on sugar should be black marketed. It did not appear to come from the customs point . It was seen that it came in Gunta and Kutura .'
MP Thapa also said that it was found that the quarantine was the worst in the customs. "The quarantine is in bad shape in the customs. Animals are not quarantined. It appeared to come from outside rather than from the customs point .'
MP Thapa also said that the 'reference book' kept at customs does not seem relevant. He said that it should be studied separately and made practical. MP Thapa also said that the border with India is not safe.
MP Thapa said that he was also bullied by the customs agent . He said that it is better to do business from the customs point.
