Mall K Sundar was unanimously elected as the new Chancellor of Nepal Language Academy on Monday. Malla was unanimously elected as the chancellor at the twenty-fourth annual meeting of the academy.

In the executive committee completed according to the statute of the academy, Prem Shanti Tuladhar, Sasikala Manandhar, Rajendra Maharjan Puta, Rajit Bahadur Shrestha, Vidya Chitrakar and Vijay Ratna have been unanimously elected among the ten members including Pushparaj Rajakarnikar Vice Chancellor, Mahendra Gopal Karmacharya Member Secretary and Veer Prasad Bhansari Treasurer. 

The first informal meeting of the newly elected executive committee has decided to nominate Nirmal Bajracharya, Rajni Mila, Shakya Suren, Tulsi Sayami and Krishnabhakta Maharjan among the remaining five experts for the fifteen member executive committee. 

The meeting has nominated outgoing Chancellor Yagya Ratna Dhakhwa as the patron of the academy. Before the new executive committee was elected, the annual meeting of the academy was held under the chairmanship of the then chancellor Yagya Ratna Dhakhwa.
