The decision of the Council of Ministers to appoint Om Prasad Baral as the vice-chairman of the Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has been annulled by the Supreme Court.

A joint bench of Chief Justice Prakashmansingh Raut and Justice Nriphadwaj Niraula on Sunday annulled the decision of the Cabinet to appoint Baral as the Vice-Chairman of CTEVT. 

The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on 6th of November 2081 decided to appoint Baral as the Vice President of CTEVT. Tailendra Acharya filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court questioning the qualifications of Baral, who was appointed as the vice-chairman of CTEVT by the Council of Ministers. The Sunday hearing on the writ filed by making the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers the opposition has determined that Baral's qualifications are not sufficient. 

The Supreme Court ruled that Om Prasad Baral's qualifications do not meet the requirements of the law. As mentioned in clause (b) of sub-rule (1) of rule 3 (b) of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Council Regulations, 2051, it is not seen that 'having at least fifteen years of working experience in the field of technical education and vocational training' is not seen, the opposition Government of Nepal The decision of the Council of Ministers on the said date of November 6, 2081 against the law and also the nomination will be invalidated by the order of expulsion,' said the Supreme Court. 

With this order, Baral has been removed as the vice president of CTEVT.
