The Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission has filed a corruption case on Sunday against Dhaneshwar Prasai, the branch officer of Rashtriya Kitabkhana Cantonment, Kathmandu, who was arrested for the crime of accepting a bribe of 3 lakhs from a customer.
On the 14th of January last year, the Authority started investigation by arresting Prasai along with the money on the charge of demanding a bribe from the service recipient for the purpose of making a pension plan. During the
investigation, the authority has also filed a case against Bhawani Adhikari, the office assistant of the bookstore, and Sudarshan Neupane, the middleman. Narahari Ghimire, the authority's spokesperson, said that they were found to have accepted a bribe of 3 lakhs to issue a pension patta (pension rights certificate) according to the rules of the service provider.
The authority filed a case and submitted the accused to the court.
