The Infrastructure Development Committee under the House of Representatives has discussed with the former Environment Executive Director of the United Nations, Eric Solheim.

Solheim, who is also a former minister of Norway, gave his opinions to the committee regarding prioritizing solar energy and creating laws related to climate.

The Infrastructure Development Committee had a discussion with Solheim on Saturday at the Federal Parliament Building, New Baneshwar. Congress MP Rajendra Bajgai informed that the water resources, energy and electricity bills are under consideration in the committee and discussions were also held with Solheim about those bills. During the discussion, Solheim advised that laws and plans should be created so that the government should give concessions on solar energy.

Solheim, who is campaigning in different countries of the world for climate change and sustainable development, promised that Nepal should find a long-term environmental solution and that he would also support it.

Solheim's dialogue with the parliamentary committee promoted high-level discussions on issues such as climate change, energy resource management and sustainable development, MP Bajgai informed.
