Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that Parliament is the platform for law making. Addressing the first meeting of the fifth session of the House of Representatives, Deuba said that there have been complaints that the issue of law making in the parliament has not been able to take a good pace.
Complaints are being heard that the issue of law making in the parliament has not been able to take a good pace. Bills related to the implementation of the constitution and directly related to the citizens are under consideration in the parliament, said Chairman Deuba.
Noting that there should be no delay in the creation of laws, Deuba said, 'I have already said that the basic principle of democracy is the rule of law. Parliament is the place of law making. Therefore, we should not delay making the necessary laws. I would like to draw the serious attention of the Honorable Parliaments to this matter. I urge the government to submit the necessary additional bills related to the implementation of the constitution and the citizens' concerns to the parliament soon.'
