Senior Vice President of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist) Rajendra Prasad Pandey has said that there has been no significant improvement in the seven months since the Congress-UML government was formed.

Addressing the first meeting of the fifth session of the House of Representatives on Friday, MP Pandey claimed that there has been no significant improvement in the seven months since the formation of the government. 'There has been no economic improvement. The unemployment rate has not decreased. The migration of young people abroad has not stopped. Villages are empty. So what are the achievements of the government?', he asked.

MP Pandey said that the government should not present itself in the style that whatever it does, when there are two-thirds. He also said that the government brought the ordinance under the guise of majority. He said that although it is the right of the government to bring the ordinance, it will weaken the role of the parliament and the internal democracy of the political parties.

'It is not that the government cannot bring ordinances, it does. But an ordinance has been brought knowingly that the parliament session will start in a few days', he said, 'the trend of bringing ordinances weakens MPs even within the party. There is no room for discussion in the ordinance, it leads the parliamentarians to think that there is no need for amendment.'

Similarly, Pandey said that the construction of strategic roads for all constituencies and the construction of health centers in all municipalities is very slow. He also demanded that Budhigandaki hydropower project and Nijgarh International Airport should be carried out as soon as possible. He also says that the government has not focused on becoming independent in agriculture.
