Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel has said that it is necessary for the related agencies to speed up the work of investigation and prosecution in order to prevent money laundering.
Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the First National Anti-Money Laundering Day, 2081 on Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Poudel said that in order to reduce financial crimes, the agencies related to the anti-money laundering system should work in a coordinated manner and prioritize investigation and prosecution.
Finance Minister Paudel emphasized that in the future, the standards made by international organizations should be followed and the implementation of the laws and regulations made by himself should be excellent. It is necessary to speed up the work of investigation and prosecution. The innocent are not punished. The standard should be established that even the guilty do not get immunity. Punishes anyone who is guilty of money laundering. No innocent should be scared,' he said.
Finance Minister Paudel mentioned that the problem of money laundering is not only in Nepal but also in the world. He said that many countries are trying to come out of this problem, solve it and maintain financial hygiene and good governance. He said that the government of Nepal is also making some efforts to create the necessary laws.
