Baluwatar meeting of ruling party: Efforts to unite in defense of the ordinance

The ruling party has prepared to counter it while the main opposition parties are building a blockade for active opposition in the parliament saying that they are trying to run the government through the ordinance. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli called a meeting of the ruling party in Baluwatar on Monday and urged the leaders of the ruling party to openly support the ordinance brought by the government and counter the opposition's opposition.

A few days ago, the government brought five ordinances to amend the Nepal Act in order to make the work related to the promotion of good governance and public service delivery effective. Another ordinance on co-operatives had come before that . There is a constitutional provision that all those ordinances should be presented in the first sitting of the parliament and passed within sixty days. The winter session of the federal parliament is sitting from January 18.

Mahesh Bertaula, chief whip of UML, said that the opposition parties are trying to politicize the ordinance brought by the government according to the constitutional arrangements and said that the meeting of the ruling party concluded that the ordinance will be presented in the first meeting of the parliament and will be passed unanimously. Since

, the opposition parties under the leadership of the main opposition Maoists are making a strategy to strongly oppose the ordinance in the parliament . Within the Congress, the main component of power, there are two opinions regarding the ordinance. Congress president and leader of the parliamentary party Sher Bahadur Deuba and most of the leaders of the establishment party, including General Minister Gagan Thapa, have spoken openly in favor of the ordinance, while leader Shekhar Koirala and his party leaders have been seen as opposed to it . Even in the meeting of the Congress parliamentary party which lasted for two days on Sunday and Monday, votes were expressed for and against the ordinance.

Congress leader Koirala in a public program held in Biratnagar on Monday protested strongly saying that the government had brought an ordinance not to call the Parliament session. Koirala said, "Even when the bill is presented in the Parliament, Congress and UML have almost two-thirds of the number." It would pass easily. However, the ordinance which has been brought by pushing the parliament . That was not right.''

Prime Minister Oli, who was troubled by the contradictions going on within the Congress regarding the Ordinance, said in the Baluwatar meeting that if the leaders of the ruling party have complaints, they should put them in the meeting and said that the leaders of the ruling party should have the same opinion on the Ordinance.

Among the land ordinances brought by the government, there is a lot of criticism. Most of the people understand that the ordinance brought by the government to make it easy to give riches to squatters and temporary residents can be misused. A leader of the Congress said that Prime Minister Oli called a Baluwatar meeting to formulate a common strategy because he thought that there would be a lot of criticism in the Parliament.

The government has amended some Nepal Acts, Economic Procedures and Financial Responsibility (First Amendment) Ordinance, Privatization (First Amendment) Ordinance, Ordinance to amend some Nepal Acts related to economic and business environment improvement and investment promotion, Ordinance to amend some Nepal Acts related to land and An ordinance was brought to amend some Nepal Acts related to cooperatives. After the

meeting, UML Chief Whip Bertaula said that the meeting will make the upcoming winter session result-oriented and make a common opinion in favor of the ordinance brought by the government according to the constitutional arrangements.

'The main emphasis of the Prime Minister was that the Parliament should be made effective, it should be conducted in a creative and creative manner so that there will be no shortage of business from the government,' Bertaula added, 'because the parliamentarians of the ruling party have a greater role in bringing the laws from the government to a conclusion, so your role should be actively coordinated. The Prime Minister expected .  The ruling party wanted to come to the same opinion on the issue of ordinances and send the message that the ruling party has moved forward with one vote.

The government is currently trying to speed up the 20 bills in the parliamentary committee in addition to the six ordinances. As the winter session will also be considered as a bill session, the Prime Minister said that the government is ready to pass many bills this time and asked the leaders of the ruling party present in the meeting for the active role of their MPs . As the budget has to be brought in the next session, there will also be an important discussion about the 'pre-budget' of the government in this session.

Congress chief whip Shyam Ghimire said that the ruling party will go to parliament after making a common opinion on the matter of the ordinance. "If there are any objections to the bill, put it in this meeting, but the Prime Minister was interested in not dividing the ruling party's vote in the parliament." There is no big problem within the Congress," he said, "even in the party parliamentary party meeting, some leaders even suggested that the work that could be done through the regular bill should not have been brought through the ordinance. There is no opposition. UML chief whip Bertaula accused the government of trying to politicize the ordinance brought in accordance with the constitution because of the injury of the main opposition Maoist leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal. It is the conclusion of the Satapaksha that the answer should also be given by the Parliament as it is a work of disorienting and protesting,' he said. He said, "In this, the entire sattaksha is standing in one place." There is no disagreement about it anywhere within the ruling party. It has been said that it will be passed unanimously. In the

meeting, LOSPA president Mahant Thakur and Janmat president CK Raut said that they are under the shadow of the ruling party. Thakur complained that the cases of those who were prosecuted during the Madhesh movement have not been returned yet, while Raut complained that the Speaker obstructed the MP Goma Lav Raut when he was trying to remove him .
