The Nepal Students Association has objected to the appointment of deans, directors, co-examination controllers and campus heads in various faculties, departments, campuses and other bodies under Tribhuvan University and other universities on the basis of party division.
On Friday, Dujang Sherpa, president of the Indian Union, issued a statement and said that the political division in the universities was not acceptable.
There is no dispute about the fact that various procedures, standards and rules have been formulated and revised to appoint university officials through open competition based on the merit system based on the continuous movement and campaign of the union. But the practice of fulfilling their party interests through the loopholes of the said law has come to face the fact that it has not yet ended,' he said, 'If these issues that are contrary to the spirit and achievements of the student movement are not stopped immediately, the New Union will be forced to re-establish a strong decisive movement.'
He has claimed that only with the energy of change, the universities will be refined according to time, and the problem will not be solved by the archaic thinking. In the name of competition, there will never be a qualitative transformation of universities from those who are appointed, appoint and create low-level arbitrary procedures by adopting unsanitary and opaque methods while looting the state's funds. Therefore, Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh calls upon all professors, teachers, staff and students of the university to unite and take initiative for academic leadership,'' the release states.
