The bodies of all those who lost their lives in the train accident in India have been handed over to their relatives. The Indian Railways has taken the bodies of the deceased to the place desired by their relatives.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepali Embassy in Delhi is coordinating for that. According to SSP Sanjeev Sharma, Consul of the Embassy, Nepal Police, 4 out of 7 deceased Nepali citizens have been cremated by their family members in India. He said that 3 people have been sent to Nepal.
Tapendra, the son of Kamala Naveen Bhandari of Kailali, who died in the accident, said that he was going to bring his mother's body home in an ambulance from the scene. Ambulance has been arranged by Indian Railways. SSP Sharma informed that the body of the deceased has been sent to the place desired by the relatives.
Along with handing over the body, the Railways has given Rs 50,000 per deceased in cash to Apant for Kazkiria. The central and state governments have announced to give compensation of 650,000 rupees to the families of those who died in the accident. SSP Sharma said that the family of the deceased will also get the remaining amount of the relief. He stated that there is constant dialogue with the Indian side on this matter.
On Wednesday evening, the passengers on the Pushpak Express from Lucknow to Mumbai stopped the train by pulling the chain. Frightened passengers jumped from there without stopping the train . At that time, some of the passengers who jumped were hit by the Karnataka Express which was coming in another direction. 12 passengers died after the Karnataka Express derailed. 7 of them are Nepalese.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 43-year-old Kamala Naveen Bhandari of Kailali, 11-year-old Himu Nandram Vishwakarma of Lachiram Pasi Achham, 44-year-old Nandram Padma Vishwakarma and 42-year-old Mausara Kami Vishwakarma died. Similarly, 60-year-old Jokla alias Kala Kami of Achham and 32-year-old Roshyam Radh of Banke have died.
