The decision to lift the suspension of MP Tek Bahadur Gurung, who was convicted in a corruption case by a special court, will be reviewed.
The full bench of Supreme Court judges Sapna Pradhan Malla, Balkrishna Dhakal and Nripadhwaj Niraula on Thursday allowed a review on the decision to lift the suspension. It is said in the order, 'Since the question of adverseness of the legal principles rendered by this court on August 22, 2079 is involved in the writ petition, permission for review has been granted in accordance with Clause (b) of Section 11(2) of the Administration of Justice Act, 2073.'
Based on the letter written by the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission, the Federal Parliament Secretariat suspended the MP Gurung elected from Manang on 12th January 2079. Gurung went to the Supreme Court against that decision.
