Former Deputy Prime Minister and Vice Chairman of CPN Maoist Center Narayan Kaji Shrestha has said that federalism was established due to the necessity of federalism in Nepal's democracy.

In the interactive program on 'Destination Gandaki' organized by Kantipur Media Group in Pokhara on Wednesday, he said that federalism was established based on the characteristics of the country.

How can we understand this federalism? The view that federalism is the root of all problems or the view that federalism is a magic wand to solve all problems is wrong,' he said in the fourth session 'Federalism: Burden or Right?' It is decided whether federalism is necessary in a democracy based on the characteristics of any country. In the context of our Nepal, we have established the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal as federalism is necessary in Nepal's democracy.'

He said that federalism was established during the restructuring of the state to address dissatisfaction and conflicts and to make the process of development inclusive in Nepal.
