The intention to increase the price of cement is bad: MP Bhattarai

UML MP Yogesh Bhattarai has expressed his suspicion that the increase in the price of cement is not just a coincidence but may be due to bad intentions.

In Wednesday's meeting of the Public Accounts Committee under the House of Representatives, MP Bhattarai said that the price increase during the construction season was not just a coincidence but was done with bad intentions. Bhattarai said that there has been a 50 to 75 percent price increase compared to three months ago.

He asked the industrialists to take a reasonable price according to the cost . He said that industrialists should not engage in black market and cartelization. The businessmen said that the increase in the price of cement cannot be accepted when doing contract work and other private work. In our Nepal, it is now the season to start a little construction work that requires a contract. Over and above, the products we produce have helped in the commercial environment in more and more industrial environments of Nepal. The same is the case when businessmen take contracts and do other private work. It is a worrying thing. It is not acceptable. What was the protection of the production and the domestic market, so we have to understand where the role of the state is," said Bhattarai. I think that and the price increase that has happened now . That increase in price is not just a coincidence, but is the intention bad or somewhere ?'

Bhattarai said that the price of a bag of cement which was Rs 400 a few months ago has now exceeded Rs 800. It seems that from 358 and 458 rupees it will reach around 750 and 800 rupees . Similarly, has the price of electricity increased? Has the shipping price increased? Is the price of labor higher?,' he said, 'if so, the price of goods may increase. In an economy like ours today, I think that's a good thing . That being so, it cannot be considered natural and you must reconsider it . The industrialists must reconsider.

Bhattarai said that Nepali technology and manpower have mobilized large capital in Nepal's own raw materials. He mentioned that it also played an important role in the national economy of Nepal .
