Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel has formed an internal task force under the coordination of Additional Secretary of the Ministry Dipendraraman Singh to implement the report of the Health Insurance Reform Suggestion Task Force. Based on the report, he has also initiated internal homework for practical and policy reforms and long-term reforms.
The members of the working group are Saroj Sharma, Head of the Ministry's Quality Measurement and Control Division, Director Anup Bastola, Law Deputy Secretary Gopikrishna Regmi and Deputy Secretary Shalikram Dahal Member-Secretary. During the discussion with the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, after the government prepared an action plan on the basis of the report, Minister Paudel started the ministerial preparations.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Oli gave a positive response to Health Minister Paudel's proposal to revise the health insurance program based on the recommendations of the report.
After the Prime Minister's approval, Minister Paudel has started the process of progressing reforms step by step. The ministry is preparing to prepare the action plan within a week and take it to the cabinet. The working group formed for this will take the report and give a report by including it in the action plan that can be implemented immediately and in the long term. Likewise, the working group will make suggestions based on the internal situation for policy and other reform issues.
'We believe that only if health insurance is improved, it can provide service facilities according to the wishes of the citizens,' Minister Paudel said, 'Since the Prime Minister has also given positive encouragement for improvement, it has become easier for us to move forward.'
