Nepal has organized the Everest Dialogue to discuss and debate the current and emerging issues of the world such as: geopolitics, economy, environment, climate change, etc.
After five years of waiting, the Everest dialogue has been confirmed. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli announced that the Everest Dialogue will be held on June 2, 3 and 4, 2081.
Prime Minister Oli formally announced the dialogue on Wednesday in the presence of ambassadors of various countries, ambassadors of international delegations, concerned agencies, and climate change experts at the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers at Singhdarbar.
Prime Minister Oli said that Everest dialogue is necessary to raise the issue of climate change. "The first edition of the dialogue on Everest will focus on the issue of climate change faced by mountain countries," he said, adding that it is likely to become a permanent crisis in the world. I believe this dialogue will address these issues.'
'Sagarmata Dialogue 2025' focuses on climate change, the Himalayas and human future. The United Nations is also celebrating 2025 as the International Year of Glacier Conservation. Representing the Union, the World Meteorological Organization and UNESCO are jointly launching the International Year of Glacier Conservation on January 21. In the same context, Nepal has prioritized the Everest dialogue.
Nepal's mountains are acting as a natural balance of the earth's climate, he said. He also called upon the international community and organizations to support Nepal to make the dialogue successful.
'Nepal is in the heart of Asia . He said, "Nepal has become an increasingly important voice in issues such as climate change." In the same context, Nepal will organize every two years focusing on global and regional issues. He said that Everest dialogue is an important place for solving contemporary problems.

Its goals are to develop an integrated understanding among nations for the impact of climate change from the Himalayan region to the coastal region and to advocate for climate justice for the climate disaster faced by low carbon emitting nations . Likewise, it aims to promote multilateral cooperation and partnership for climate finance and initiate the regular negotiation process of the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
The Sagarmatha dialogue that was supposed to be held in 2076 was stopped at the last stage due to covid-19 . At that time, Oli was the Prime Minister and CPN-UML Deputy Secretary General Pradeep Kumar Gyawali was the Foreign Minister. It was Gyawali who took forward the idea of the Sagarmatha dialogue and implemented it.
"I conceived the Sagarmatha dialogue". It was accepted by the government as an important program and included in the budget," he said. "We canceled the program only 20/22 days before the dialogue because of Covid. Many countries including China, India, and other South Asian countries expressed their desire to participate. After preparing for about a year, he said that the dialogue has been prepared in cooperation with the island nation, adding that why the mountains are important for the future of the Mawan race.

It is also the government's plan to establish the dialogue as a platform for international level debate by including all the important successful works of Nepal's past history, Nepal's civilization, culture, economy and politics, geo-politics, trade, business, private sector, civil society, etc. Tell .
