The Revenue Investigation Department has filed a case against 5 people in the Patan High Court on Monday against 5 people on charges of illegal gold transportation. According to the department, last July, three kilos of gold was recovered from Rasuwa crossing.
According to the department, among those arrested with gold, Ramkrishna Waiba and Buddhi Bahadur Tamang have been submitted to the court with the case.
Sunil Tamang, Nima Dundup Tamang and Kamal Ghale are absconding. They are all from Rasuwa. A case has been filed against them demanding a penalty of 380 thousand 91 thousand bigos and 100% fine according to the bigos.
Information Officer Navraj Adhikari informed that a case has been filed against the five defendants demanding 190 million 455 thousand and 100 percent fine as well as 38 million 9 million 10 thousand and imprisonment. The joint trial of Judges Lekhnath Paudel and Krishnaram Koirala demanded bail. It was ordered to take a cash bond or equivalent bail or a bank bond and keep the records. They were sent to jail because they could not pay the required bond. According to the information officer of the court, Arjun Prasad Acharya, the Revenue Investigation Department has been ordered to keep the truck which is said to be seized with gold.
