The police have arrested a second person on the charge of assaulting senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi. District Police Complex Kathmandu also arrested Mahendra Pandey of Humla on Sunday on the charge of beating up Tripathi.
According to District Police Complex Kathmandu, Pandey, who was absconding, was arrested during the search for those involved in the beating of Senior Advocate Tripathi. On January 2, Pandey was beaten up outside Kathmandu District Court.
Senior advocate Tripathi, who was arguing against RSVP Chairman Ravi Lamichhane on bail in the co-operative fraud case, was beaten up. Police said about Pandey's arrest, 'He was involved in the beating of senior advocate Dinesh Kumar Tripathi outside the south gate of the Kathmandu District Court and absconded. District Humla Adanchuli rural municipality ward number 4 house while searching for the missing persons Mahendra Pandey, 32, resident of District Kathmandu, Suryadarshan Height, was arrested on January 5th, and further investigation is being conducted by Police Circle Sinhadarbar.
The police said that the search for the persons involved in the beating of Senior Advocate Tripathi is continuing. Lalit Kumar KC of Dolakha was arrested by the police for his involvement in the incident. The deadline for killing him has been extended by the court.
