Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh has said that it is necessary to learn lessons from history and make earthquake resistant structures.
He said this at the 27th Earthquake Safety Day program held at BP Koirala Memorial Science Museum in Kirtipur on Wednesday.
'Earthquake-resistant houses should be built to avoid earthquakes,' he said, 'It requires everyone's cooperation and support.'
He said that it is necessary to convey the message that the structure to be formed now is strong. He emphasized that the National Building Code should be followed for this.
On the occasion of Earthquake Day, a program was organized by Kirtipur Municipality with the slogan "Lessons taught by earthquakes: With strong structures and strong preparations".
This day has been celebrated since 2055 in memory of the Great Earthquake of January 2, 1990.
