Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has said that emphasis will be placed on the use of new technology for earthquake and disaster mitigation.
He said this at the 27th Earthquake Safety Day program organized at BP Koirala Memorial Science Museum in Kirtipur on Wednesday.
'There will be no shortage of it in the government,' he said, 'In the coming days, the earthquake resistant structure will be made more effective.'
He said that the multi-purpose information system and training center will be prioritized by the government.
On the occasion of Earthquake Day, Kirtipur Municipality organized the National Root Ceremony program.
This day has been celebrated since 2055 in memory of the Great Earthquake of January 2, 1990.
