Public Service Broadcasting Organizations began to steal power and individuals: Minister Gurung

Communications and Information Technology Minister Prithvisubba Gurung has said that since public service broadcasting organizations cannot be operated according to rules and laws, they are developing by exploiting power and individuals. He said that the public service broadcasting organizations, which have played the fiddle of democracy, are going to run under the guidance of individuals and power rather than institutionally.

In the pre-launch program of Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) on Tuesday, Minister Gurung said that due to legal complications, it has developed into an organization that exploits power and certain individuals because it cannot be run according to the principles of the organization. He also accused Radio Nepal of monopolizing the panchayat system for 30 years. He said that Radio Nepal is being accused of communicating false information due to not being able to communicate correct information to the people.

'Public broadcasting organizations have done the job of playing the fiddle of democracy, but recently, since the public service broadcasting organization could not operate according to its principles, it has evolved into an organization that exploits power and certain people,' Minister Gurung said, 'After 30 years of good work, Radio Nepal is under the control of the Panchayat. It was developed as an organization for making punches. There was no such thing in communicating the correct information to the people . Fake and Fake News  It is a situation where the other party has accused that it was broadcast.'

Minister Gurung said that after the arrival of multi-party in the country, efforts were made to improve government communication institutions including Radio Nepal. Amid many ups and downs, when we reached the second public movement, a suggestion committee and working group were formed to run public broadcasting institutions like Radio Nepal and Nepal Television as per the plan. The working group and suggestion committee also gave suggestions to the government. After that, sometimes during the construction of the constitution, sometimes due to blockades and earthquakes, we were unable to take the right direction,' Minister Gurung said.

Minister Gurung said that the public broadcasting organization will move in the right direction. Organizations must now believe in excellence. 'Believing in excellence is competition . Therefore, as an organization that believes in excellence, Nepal should start developing the public service broadcasting organization. I believe that Nepal, the current public broadcasting organization, will certainly fulfill that role,' said Minister Gurung.

Minister Gurung said that even if the service of government broadcasting organizations cannot reach all over the world, they should reach all parts of Nepali geography.
