There is a religious belief that the gods also come to Makarsanaan at the confluence of these two rivers. That's why the shower starts early in the morning. Devghat area development committee chairman Bhim Bahadur Rana said. He said that devotees come not only from Chitwan and surrounding districts but also from all over the country for Makarsnan at Devghat. They also come from bordering Indian areas for bathing.

Makar Snan is believed to have started after ritually burying a lingo at the confluence of two rivers on the day before Sankranti. Makar Snan has been taking place at Devghat since ancient times. Chairman Rana said that in the Puranas, Devghat Dham is also a pilgrimage site for pilgrims. That is why lakhs of devotees come here every year for Makarsana. Chairman Rana estimates that five lakh devotees will come to Devghat this time.
