Government spokesperson and Minister of Communication and Information Technology Prithvisubba Gurung has said that Nepal's economy is in trouble. He claimed that the government was forced to bring an ordinance to improve the economy.

Addressing the 58th anniversary and parents' day program of Tribhuvan Mavi at Ghanpokhara Morngi, Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-2, Lamjung on Sunday, he said that the economic situation is not easy.

'The economy is really in trouble . I am talking closely with the Finance Minister. Although efforts have been made to improve the economy, it has not improved, he said. He said that there is no job creation anywhere, there is no situation to bring export materials from abroad, even though the treasury is filled with foreign currency reserves, it cannot be spent when export materials are not coming from abroad .

'There is money in the bank, no one goes to take a loan . The industry has not been able to run . This situation has to end . All the problems have to be solved . That is why we are forced to bring an ordinance,' he said.

He said that the situation that can be done in 3 years and it takes 13 years should end . People are saying, there is no need to open the parliament. The Ordinance is being introduced . If it is taken to the parliament, it will take 5 years to pass this law in the current manner. By then, a lot of things will have passed. Now it will be 1 year from going to the fast track," he said.

He stated that the ordinance is the need of the day to maintain good governance, meet the needs of the people, increase the speed of development, and improve the overall economy. "By increasing capital expenditure, increasing trade, we will improve the economy, create jobs, and end poverty," he said.

In another context, he said that information technology (IT) teachers should be appointed in every school and studies should be taught accordingly. He said that the work of providing Internet access to households in Nepal has started and 4G service will be provided to all human settlements.
