CPN Maoist Center Deputy Secretary General Varshman Pun has said that a parliamentary committee should be formed to investigate the major cases of corruption, irregularities and state exploitation.
Inaugurating the second session of the Maoist center Mahabharat rural municipality, Kavre on Saturday at Debitar, Pun said that a parliamentary special committee should be formed to investigate irregularities and state exploitation cases like Bhutanese refugee case, Yeti, Omni, Giribandhu T-State.
In a democracy, the president, prime minister, minister, parliamentarian and no one can be above questions, he said that Prime Minister KP Oli should be ready for investigation on the questions raised against him in public. 'What about the Bhutanese refugee case started by the government led by our President Prachanda? Will there be an investigation into the Yeti and Omni case or not?,' he said, In a democracy, as in a monarchy, no one is above the law and the question. Parliament should investigate all these cases .'
He discussed that when Prachanda was prime minister, he called the chief of police and publicly investigated whether his party leader or himself was involved in corrupt activities. Does the current Prime Minister Oli have the courage to make such an appeal? asked that.
Even though there was cooperation in the political agenda from the peace process to 10 years after the promulgation of the constitution, he said that after the Prachanda government started the campaign of good governance and democracy purification, their paths differed with Congress and UML.
He mentioned that in the 2084 election, he would go to the election alone with the agenda of Maoist anti-corruption and good governance.
