Nepali Congress senior leader Shekhar Koirala has arrived in London. Koirala came to Britain at the invitation of British Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Catherine West and Gareth Thomas, Minister of State for Industry and Commerce, who oversees the Indo-Pacific.

On Thursday at 10:30 PM, Leader Koirala, who landed at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 4, was welcomed by UK-based Nepali Congress workers and well-wishers. At the airport, leader Koirala said that since he came to the UK as an MP, he would meet British MPs and leaders here, understand and learn something.

He urged the Nepali community in Britain to support the prosperity of their country and requested them to play an important role in strengthening the relationship between Britain and Nepal as ambassadors of the country. In one context, leader Koirala said that the 'core value' of the Congress has gone down and it is time to think about it.

Koirala is scheduled to speak at a special event to be held in a chamber of the British Parliament building on the evening of January 13. It is said that the British Minister of State for Asia Affairs, Minister of Industry, Trade and Commerce, British MPs and representatives of the Nepali community will be present at the event.

Leader Koirala will meet British politicians and interact with the Nepali community in different cities during his stay in the UK for a week. He is scheduled to participate in the 'reception' organized by the Nepali Embassy in London on Friday afternoon. Leader Koirala will be felicitated in South Harrow on Friday evening.

He will also participate in the program to be held in Cambridge on January 11 and South East London on Sunday January 12, according to the organizers. On the 49th National Unity and Reconciliation Day to be held at Gorkha Capricorn in Plumstead on Sunday organized by the Nepali Public Relations Committee of the UK, Dr. Yuvraj Singh, executive chairman of the committee, said that Koirala will be the chief guest. Koirala will return to Nepal on January 16 after completing his UK tour.
