Labor, Employment and Social Security Minister Sharatsingh Bhandari has proposed to South Korea to take all Nepalis who have passed the language test to the Employment Permit System (EPS).
In a courtesy meeting with the Korean Ambassador to Nepal Park T-Yong on Thursday, Labor Minister Bhandari said that Nepalis who have passed the language test have been waiting for jobs in Korea for a long time.
'In order to send all the Nepalis who have passed the examination and are on the roster to go to South Korea, it is seen that initiatives should be taken to increase the demand for labor in the future,' he said to the ambassador, 'those who have passed the Korean language test, those who are preparing, who have been named in the roster in the past, but Korea There is a situation where special arrangements should be made targeting the people who have not been able to go. For this, I request the Korean government to assist in skill development.
Labor Minister Bhandari said that the labor agreement between Nepal and South Korea should be reviewed and renewed. "Procedures related to sending skilled workers to South Korea should be further facilitated to send Nepali workers who are on the roster to employment soon after passing the EPS exam," he said.
South Korea's ambassador to Nepal Yong said that he highly values Nepali workers and will continue to take workers from Nepal. "I am positive about taking the initiative to employ people whose names are included in the roster with high priority and to take more Nepalese workers," he said.
