Congress General Minister regarding Oli's statement to amend the constitution in 2087 Sharma's objection

The ruling Congress General Minister Bishwa Prakash Sharma has objected to the Prime Minister and UML President KP Sharma Oli saying that the constitutional amendment will be done only in 2087.

Sharma questioned the Prime Minister while reminding the seven-point agreement that the constitution will be amended when the current power alliance of Congress and UML is in place.

Sharma protested Prime Minister Oli's statement at the inauguration program of Congress's Kachankawal-Sagarmatha Awakening campaign held in Jhapa on Wednesday.

'I heard the Prime Minister said that if he said during the meeting of the UML that the constitutional amendment will be done in 2087, then I would like to politely and seriously disagree with him from his district,' Sharma said, 'While making the seven-point agreement, we should amend the constitution based on today's needs. We have said that we will revise after re-evaluation. If the Maoist party does not participate in the National Assembly to amend the constitution, the two-thirds majority will not be enough. Prime Minister, we are not in a position to put on back gear because we are not mathematically enough to amend the constitution. Didn't the prime minister and the chairman of our party announce that we will amend the constitution when the two main parties are in government?' Sharma objected to Prime Minister Oli's statement. There has been a consultation to open the door to constitutional amendment. It is written in the seven points of understanding . When the constitution is being amended, what is the expectation of the citizens? What are the expectations of the party friends? What is the expectation of the village ? The subject should be studied and brought. Reducing the number of 165 to 100, 150 as is being discussed is not a big deal, but when we are revising the constitution, we have to revise these issues,' said Sharma, 'We have to do things to manage proportionality . But the issue that needs to be discussed most intensively is that after the amendment of the constitution, this country must search for a method to create a prime minister who will last for five consecutive years in a country that has not been ruled by the same prime minister for five consecutive years.

Chief Minister Sharma said that it is necessary to amend the constitution by taking all political parties into confidence. He said that even though the constitution will be amended in 2087, it can only be said after discussions between Congress and UML. UML claimed that no one has the right to amend the constitution in 2087 without controversy.
