Anjala Koirala, wife of Rishikesh Pokhreli, chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, who is involved in the fraud case of Umagouri Cooperative Society located in Dhanpalthan-3 of Morang, has appeared in the district court on Wednesday.

On the 27th of November, the district attorney's office, Morang, filed a case against the defendants including Anjala in the case of embezzlement of about 22 million rupees from the cooperative. After filing the case, Koirala, who was a teacher of Biratnagar's Mahendra Ratri School, was absconding.

Koirala appeared in court on Wednesday after office hours. His statement has been fixed in the courtroom of District Court Judge Uddhav Prasad Bhattarai. According to the court, there will be a closed debate after the statement.

A case has been filed against 26 people including chairman Shyam Kumar Rauniyar in this cooperative fraud case. So far, one person is in custody and one person has been released on bail. The remaining 23 defendants are still absconding.
