Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel has said that it will be difficult to start the University of Health Sciences in Geta immediately. According to Health Minister Paudel, it will be difficult to establish a university due to financial resources and human resources.
Minister Poudel said, "The university cannot be operated in Geta while the bill is being prepared." But becoming a university has its own process. The cost is high. Financial resources, human resources and other infrastructure are necessary. It takes time.'
Minister Poudel said that it will be difficult to become a university when there is no operating hospital and no medical education. The government had decided to establish Shahid Dasharthand Health Sciences University at Geta in Kailali on 29th January 080. Based on the same decision, the bill to establish a university has been passed by the National Assembly and is currently pending in the House of Representatives.
Minister of Health and Population Paudel said that since the process of establishing a university in Geta would be long and the cost would be high, he emphasized on providing specialized health services immediately. We will build 100 beds by June. We will build 300 beds," Minister Paudel said. "We are doing O&M of 300 beds. 65 million will be spent annually. We will try to operate a hospital with 300 beds as much as possible.
Minister Paudel says that there will be no obstacle to run MBBS in Geta. MBBS studies have been conducted in six provinces. Only the Far West is left," he said. "Though three hundred beds have not been in operation for three years, the Medical Education Commission can now decide to operate MBBS in Geta due to specific circumstances."
Currently, a 50-bed hospital has been established in Geta. Minister Poudel said that he will immediately send 15-20 doctors to Geta. He directed the health workers working at Geta Hospital to immediately operate 24-hour emergency services in the hospital. He said that he is going to start MBBS studies in June.
The struggle committee for the establishment of a university in Geta has submitted a memorandum to Minister Paudel requesting the passage of the bill from the meeting of the House of Representatives, said Lokraj Pandey, the coordinator of the committee.
Minister Paudel said that after Singha Durbar, the largest structure in the country is Geta. "Getta is the biggest infrastructure built in the country in 20 years," he said.
