At 6:50 a.m., a strong shock was felt in the Khumbu region near Tibet when the earthquake shook continuously for more than 30 seconds.
When the earthquake shook the house, people ran away. Now they are staying outside the house due to fear and panic. After the earthquake occurred in the morning in the cold, people are sitting outside their houses in the cold. Lakpa Chiri Sherpa, the spokesperson of Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality, said that efforts are being made to collect details about what and how much damage was caused in the upper region by the earthquake. "The earthquake has given a big shock, people are outside their houses," he said, "We have invited the public to contact us if there is any damage in the upper areas." DSP Dwarika Prasad Ghimire, Chief of District Police Office Solukhumbu, said that since the center is near Labuche in Khumbu region, it is difficult to collect information from the upper region. As it is the off season for tourism in the upper region, most of the people are staying towards the capital. The people of Salleri Bazar, the headquarters, have come out of their houses and are staying in safe places.
