The left engine of Buddha Air's ATR plane carrying 72 passengers and flying from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur on Monday morning was found to be faulty.

According to a senior official of Buddha Air, the preliminary examination by the technicians has revealed that the secondary blade of the left engine of the ATR with registration number Alfa Juliet Serra has been damaged . As per Civil Aviation Authority rules, the aircraft has been grounded immediately.

"Technicians are discussing under the supervision of the engine manufacturer company Pratt & Whitney," said an engineer from Buddha, "It seems that this engine should be removed from the ship and sent for repair." According to Jagannath Niraula, General Manager of Tribhuvan International Airport, the ATR of Buddha, which flew to Bhadrapur at 10:37 am on Monday, had an engine problem after reaching 80 km east of Kathmandu. He returned to Kathmandu showing the reason.

Buddha's pilot saw that the performance of the left engine was not as good as it should have been and turned off the engine and returned the ship to Kathmandu . In such a situation, the plane declared a full emergency according to the rules that require declaring an emergency.

. Based on the pilot's declaration of an emergency, the Kathmandu airport gave priority to this plane and made it land . Buddha put the passengers of that flight on another plane and sent them to Bhadrapur .
