Nepali army march on Gorkha-Kathmandu unification route

The Nepali Army has started a march on the footpath used by Prithvi Narayan Shah during the expansion of the Gorkha state. On Sunday, the Nepalese army started their journey from Hanumanbhanjyang, the Gorkha palace. Ganapati Ashok Kumar Chhetri said that the trip will be transferred district wise and will proceed.

On the first day on Sunday, Nepali Sen's repumardan group will travel to Ghatbensi on the Gorkha-Dhading border. The Yatra will be handed over to Shiv Dal Gana of Dhading in Ghatbensi on Sunday evening. 

Nepali army march on Gorkha-Kathmandu unification route The Nepali Army started the march with the flags of the five first companies of the Nepali Army (Srinath, Kalibox, Old Gorakh, Barda Bahadur and Sabuj) established during the reign of Prithvi Narayan Shah. Madhukarsingh Karki, Chief of Nepali Army's West Division, Krishna Rana, Chief of Gorkha Municipality, started the journey by handing over the flag and torch. 

Nepali army march on Gorkha-Kathmandu unification route The journey will end on the day of Prithvi Jayanti on 27th of January through Gorkha, Dhading, Nuwakot and reach the special ceremony at Hanumandhoka in Kathmandu, the Nepali Army said.

The Nepali Army has been marching on the Gorkha-Kathmandu unification route every year since 2076 on the occasion of Prithvi Jayanti.
