UML has said that it is not necessary to refute the allegations leveled by expelled leader Bhim Rawal against President KP Sharma Oli. It has been concluded that the accusations made by Rawal in the meeting of the Party Secretariat on Thursday were 'copy-paste' made by the then CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal against Oli in 2077.
"We did not think that the insults used against us should be discussed. This was expected from him (Rawal). A country cannot be built by swearing," Deputy Secretary General Pradeep Gyawali said, "There is no competition in our swearing. There is nothing new. In a way, it is the 'copy paste' submitted by Prachanda in October 2077. I don't think it's a topic to be discussed .'
Former Vice President Rawal, who was expelled from UML on charges of activities against the party's interests, asked President Oli 74 questions at a press conference held on Wednesday saying that he had made 'arbitrary, despotic and dictatorial' decisions. He has also accused Oli of taking a policy of prohibition because he contested for the presidency against Oli in the 10th Congress held in November 2068.
He says that since there was no reason for UML to ask him for an explanation on November 4, he did not answer and there is no legal basis for taking action against him.
