A bill to amend the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 has been passed by the Public Order and Good Governance Committee. Chairman Ramhari Khatiwada informed that the bill was passed in the meeting of the committee on Thursday.

The bill was passed after discussion on the report formed by the sub-committee chaired by Hridayram Thani, formed by the state system committee. The committee will prepare a report on the bill and submit it to the next session of the Federal Parliament. In the

bill, provision has been made for activities related to such program or project to be carried out if an organization conducts a program or project after receiving a grant from the Nepal government, state government or local level.

Similarly, special research methods and innovative technology have been arranged for research. In which, controlled investigation method, covert investigation method, obtaining the details of telephone or communication media with the permission of the court and providing access to the structure or system of computer or other electronic devices are also provided. 

The Anti-Corruption Bill was registered in the National Assembly on January 6, 2076.
