Governments of Wagmati and Madhesh provinces have joined forces to build a short-distance road network to connect the India-China border through Nepal.

The provincial government is engaged in expanding the inter-provincial road network from Sarlahi in Madhesh through Sindhuli in Wagmati. The Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning of the Government of Wagmati Province and the Minister of Finance of the Government of Madhesh Province have jointly observed the current situation and the possibility of expansion of this new route in the first phase.

Both provincial governments have agreed to connect the road network from Bishnu Rural Municipality of Sarlahi District to Madan Bhandari Highway through Marin Rural Municipality of Sindhuli through Hariwan, Kaneshwar.

According to Anup Adhikari, Private Secretary of the Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning of Wagmati Province, the governments of both provinces are preparing to proceed with the contract process of about 60 kilometers of road from Sindhuli's Marin to Sarlahi's Hariwan.

'Currently, this route can also be used as an alternative to the BP highway . In the first phase, both provinces have agreed to work in their own geography. We will allocate the budget next year . The ministry has already taken forward the work of making DPR for that,' said the official. According to him, it is initially estimated that 13 kilometers of road should be constructed from Hariwan to Kaneshwar river, 22 kilometers from Kaneshwar river to Marin and 35 km from Marin to Nepal Wholesale Humza. He said that there is a preliminary estimate that about 8 kilometers of road should be constructed from Hariwan to Jimiledanda in Madhesh Province.

While inspecting the Madan Bhandari Highway from Bishnu Rural Municipality of Sarlahi District of Madhesh to Hariwan Kaneshwar, Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning of Wagmati Province Government, Kundanraj Kafle promised that there will be no shortage of budget for the construction of the road and to proceed honestly.

Informing that the provincial government has already constructed the bridge, Minister Kafle said that in the government's policies and plans, provincial roads and roads connecting internal districts have been given special priority.

Finance Minister of Madhesh Province Government, Sunil Kumar Yadav, said that it is going to proceed in a planned way because it is an important and short-distance route to connect the two provinces .

He also expressed the commitment of the Madhesh state government to build this road network with priority. They said that hundred road projects will play an important role in establishing the relationship between the two provinces and reaching the border between India and China.
