General Secretary of the Revolutionary Communist Party and former vice-chairman of the Maoist Mohan Vaidya has been undergoing treatment for 15 days. After developing asthma, he was admitted to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for treatment.
Leader Haribhakt Kandel informed that he was being treated in the ICU for four days after developing pneumonia along with asthma. The Revolutionary Communist Party has formed a committee headed by Kandel for the treatment of Vaidya.
'General Secretary (Vaidya)'s health is improving. The doctor says that the medicine has worked," Kandel said. "If there is an improvement, he is ready to be discharged after four to five days." Dr. Niraj Bomb's team is treating Vaidya.
Kandel said that Vaidya rejected the suggestion of going abroad for treatment every year after getting asthma. There are good doctors here. "Why did we have to go abroad, we are treating here," he said.
Dr. Bam's team is doing good treatment, Kandel informed. "The team of doctors has worked hard to treat the Secretary General," he said.
Health Minister Pradeep Paudel reached the teaching hospital on Monday to meet the doctor. Before that, Chairman of Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal, General Secretary of Nepal Communist Party Netra Vikram Chand also met on Sunday.
Gajurel given charge of Acting General Secretary
After General Secretary Mohan Vaidya fell ill, senior leader CP Gajurel has been given the charge of Acting General Secretary. The doctor who is being treated in the ICU has designated Gajurel as acting general secretary.
Gajurel is a senior leader of the Revolutionary Communist Party who left the Maoists with Vaidya. He is also the former central secretary of Maoist. "Until Kiran (Vaidya) ji is settled, I have been given the responsibility of caretaker," Gajurel said.
