The former American president, who passed away on Monday at the age of 100, is known by many only as a person who took the initiative to conduct the Constituent Assembly elections and advance the peace process when he linked with Nepal. However, his Nepal sign is decades older than that.

"He is the person who took the initiative for the release of BP Koirala while he was the president," says Congress leader Meinendra Rizal, "He called Raja Birendra and asked for BP's release. Carter was a man who spoke against democracy anywhere in the world."

Former US President Carter passed away on Sunday. According to the Carter Center, 100-year-old former President Carter died at his residence on Sunday.

Carter has also become the longest-lived ex-president in American history. He was the President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. Carter visited Nepal 5 times at different times. The last time he came to Nepal was to observe the second Constituent Assembly election of 2070.
