Poorna Bahadur Nepali has been unanimously approved as Sri Lanka's ambassador by the parliamentary hearing committee. Ishwaridevi Neupane informed that the meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee on Sunday unanimously decided to approve the Nepalese ambassador to Sri Lanka.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers on November 6th recommended a Nepali as the ambassador to Sri Lanka. The government recommended a Nepali working as an associate professor at Kathmandu University as the ambassador to Sri Lanka.

Nepalis have also been recommended for the non-resident ambassador of the Maldives. There is a constitutional provision that the president appoints the ambassador after approval by the parliamentary committee .
