Sino-Indian agreement on Lipulekh encroaches on the universal integrity of Nepal: General Secretary Chand

Nepal Communist Party General Secretary Netra Vikram Chand has objected to the agreement to re-open the pilgrim and trade route between India and China through Nepal's Lipulek Bhanjyang.

By issuing a statement on Saturday, Chand objected to the agreement reached in Beijing by India's National Security Adviser Doval during his visit to China last week. '

Our party has drawn serious attention to the agreement reached between Chinese and Indian authorities on December 3 (December 18) in Beijing in 2015 to re-operate the pilgrim and commercial route through Lipulekh Bhanjyang, which was closed due to Covid-19,' Chand continued. In the statement, it is said, "When the agreement was reached in 2015, the patriotic Nepali people along with our party started a struggle demanding the cancellation of the agreement."

At that time, Chand also reminded that the Chinese government said that the agreement made with India can be re-evaluated if there is a proof document according to Nepal's claim. 'In May 2077, the House of Representatives (Parliament) of Nepal has published a map covering the territory including Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulek Bhanjyang,' Chand said, 'The China-India agreement reached without cooperation with Nepal on the agreement to use the territory of Nepal has encroached on the universal integrity of Nepal . '

Chand has said that it is necessary to be serious about the independence and integrity of Nepal. Chand has demanded from the government, 'Our party demands the Nepal government to cancel the India-China agreement on December 18 (Pus 3) regarding Lipulek Bhanjyang and take necessary steps to protect national integrity.'
