Tribhuvan University has become a hostage once again due to the power and the opposition. The fraternal organization of the ruling UML, Aneraswaviyu, has been on sit-in at the vice-chancellor's office for 15 days, while 5 student organizations, including the opposition Maoist-backed All Revolutionaries, have locked down 4 institutions including the office of the central campus head (Principal).

Vice-Chancellor Kesharjung Baral has stopped going to the office since Siddhant Bhatt, president of the university campus unit of ANERASWVIU, started the sit-in.

Five student organizations have not allowed Central Campus Head Dhyanendra Rai to enter the office since Monday. The principal's office, the general administration division of the registrar's office and the physics department have been locked out for weeks.

The University Staff Association has also been protesting for 3 weeks with the demands of permanent promotion through internal competition and automatic promotion after a certain period of time. 

Employees union is dominated by emalenikat employees. Due to protests like sit-ins, processions, sieges, lockdowns, entry restrictions, the university campus is becoming abnormal. Due to the turbulent atmosphere in the university, Chancellor KP Sharma Oli chaired an informal senate meeting at Singh Darbar last Sunday. When he reached the university to participate in the Senate on November 27, the staff were angry.

After Bhatt, who is also the secretary of Swaviyu, sat outside the door of the office of the vice-chancellor, the employees of the vice-chancellor's office complained that the daily work was interrupted. All day there is a throng of leaders and workers of ANERASWAVIU and UML who come to meet Bhatt and express their solidarity.

Even when the negotiation committee was formed, no agreement could be reached. There is a lot of space in the university to exert pressure, wherever sit-ins will take place. It seems that the vice-chancellor came to the door and sit on a dharna to prevent him from working," said an employee. 

Bhatt has put forward 35 points of demand. Samik Badal, the president of ANERASWAVIU, also issued a statement and expressed solidarity with his sit-in. Even though Bhatt is the Secretary of the Swaviyu, the Swaviyu has not expressed solidarity with the demand and sit-in.

Some of the demands are related to government, Ministry of Finance, National Planning Commission, Public Service Commission and other bodies other than University. Efforts are being made to agree on everything," said Registrar Kedar Rizal. A member of the negotiation committee said that Bhatt did not want to discuss. "We have not been able to reach a conclusion since he said that you cannot fulfill the demand, the vice-chancellor, rector, registrar should come to the talks," he said. 

As soon as Bhatt started his sit-in, the Vice-Chancellor's office formed an investigation committee under the coordination of Pramod Paudel, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Science. The Committee consists of Legal Advisers from the Monitoring Directorate and the Vice-Chancellor's Office. The

committee has said that it has sat in discussion 3 times. After talks with the committee could not be held, the Vice Chancellor's Office has formed another committee under the coordination of Campus Head Rai. Spokesperson of the University, Amensingh Bohora, said that since teachers, staff and students have put forward their demands separately, they are being discussed through separate negotiation committees. Talks and discussions are going on. "Everyone does not have time to talk and discuss with the vice-chancellor, rector, registrar," he said. 

Dharnarat Bhatt told Kantipur that only the initial dialogue will be with the negotiation committee and the final dialogue will be with the Vice-Chancellor, Rector, Registrar and Dean. The first negotiation committee was ignorant of the demand. The second committee is in dialogue," he said on the telephone. "The demand can be fulfilled only after negotiations at the official level." 

Trivi is having convocation ceremony on 13th December. Vice-Chancellor Baral came to the working room on Tuesday to prepare for it. Before that, he did his daily work from the examination control office. The day before the sit-in, Bhatt had met Vice-Chancellor Baral, Rector Khadg KC and Registrar Kedar Rizal and warned that if the demand was not met, the university admission would be blocked.

The vice chancellor has stopped coming to the office after the weather is not good. The sit-in is crowded. It is difficult to even open the door, how can one come to the university? Aneraswaviyu unit president Bhatt claimed that he did not obstruct the vice-chancellor. "I asked him to come to the vice-chancellor's office, but he did not come for many days," he said.

Bhatt has demanded that the tuition fees of the central department should be adjusted, street lights should be installed in the university for night lighting, disabled-friendly structures should be made, some daytime classes should be conducted in the morning, the campus canteen should be allowed to operate, and the best students should be directly appointed to the university and government banks. .

The report on land investigation should be made public and implemented, dormitory seats should be increased and a building with facilities should be built, a seminar hall with facilities should be built, research scholarships should be given to students, equivalence services should be received within 48 hours, and those who are guilty of losing answer sheets should be prosecuted.

There are demands for self-education elections every two years, service commission exams should be regular, the process of automatic contracting of part-time teachers should be canceled, curriculum should be restructured, scholarships should be made transparent, etc. The professors say that some of his demands can only be fulfilled by the government.

Maoist-affiliated All-Revolutionary, United Socialist-affiliated Aneraswaviyu, National People's Front-affiliated All (6th), Nepal Communist Party-affiliated Akhil Samajwadi and Nepal Samajwadi Party-affiliated Nepal Samajwadi Vidyarthi Union demanded an investigation into the issue of charging parking fees in the NPL competition and blocked Chief Rai from entering the campus.

A banner has been placed at the campus gate stating that he has been banned for not listening to the demand. It is mentioned in the warning banner that an inquiry committee will be formed, the amount raised will be made public and those involved in collecting money illegally will not be allowed to enter the university until action is taken. 

On the first day of the tournament at the University Stadium, vehicle parking fees were collected from the spectators in the name of Swaviyu. Student organizations have been demanding that the raised fees should be made public and investigated. Swaviyu president Shyamraj Ojha has been accused of collecting fees by mobilizing students near him.

Dinesh Ayer, president of Akhil Krantikari, said that the general administration division and the Swabiyu office have also been locked on the subject of the same fee. He said that he was forced to lock down after submitting the memorandum and being ignored. Swaviyu has embezzled millions by charging fees. No agency investigated it. Even though we didn't want to lock down, we were forced to do so," he said.

Campus head Rai said that he went to the office even though the student group blocked the entry. The students were demanding. He said, "I have come to the campus and am working."

He said that Swaviyu should give an answer on the matter of charging fees. Swaviyu President Ojha issued a statement saying that after the dispute regarding the parking fee, he would play the role of a volunteer to arrange free parking from the second day of the match. In the Central Department of Physics, the students' organization including the revolutionaries have put a lock on the demand that failed students should be allowed to participate in the thesis.

Meanwhile, the university administration has drawn attention to the editorial written in Kantipur on August 8, pointing out the state of affairs of the university. In an editorial titled 'How did the students who did not participate in the examination pass?', written on the subject of the initiation of students who did not participate in the examination at Kathmandu University, the university has criticized the use of the wording unnecessarily. 

Kantipur wrote an editorial about Kathmandu University awarding academic degrees to 8 students who dropped out of classes and did not take the exam at the convocation ceremony. Bhim Bahadur Shrestha, the Head of Information and Public Relations Division of the University, has stated that the University is performing an important national responsibility in the higher education of the country. According to him, TRI has made a respectable profile as a prestigious university in the world.
