UML's Secretariat meeting has suspended Standing Committee member Binda Pandey and Central Member Ushakiran Timsina for 6 months. Pandey and Timsina were suspended for criticizing Meen Bahadur Gurung's decision to donate land and building for the party's central office and the decision taken by UML.

UML's secretariat meeting held on Wednesday decided to suspend central member Timsina along with permanent committee member Pandey for 6 months.

Pandey, a suspended standing committee member, who came to know about the decision while the party was at work, responded. She also asked for suggestions from social networks on how to use the suspension period . 'We were working on the party, we heard the news that the leader had given a 6-month leave. This period should be used constructively and creatively. Let's get suggestions from here,' says Pandey.

UML has expelled the former vice-president Bhim Rawal without even being an ordinary member. Rawal contested for the chairmanship with KP Sharma Oli in the last convention of UML. After that, he has been sidelined in the party.
