Due to the influence of western wind, the weather has changed and become cold in most parts of the country including Kathmandu Valley. Pratibha Manandhar, a senior meteorologist of the Water and Weather Forecasting Division, informed that due to the western low pressure air, the entire country, including Kathmandu Valley, has become colder since Monday.
"There has been a change in the weather since yesterday (Monday) due to the arrival of the western low pressure system," she said She said that the valley felt cold because the temperature increased and the maximum temperature decreased. She adds, "It is raining and it has reached Bagmati province. There is a situation of sporadic rains in the central part of Nepal in the east.'
The western wind system is likely to bring rain and snow till afternoon on Tuesday and Wednesday, and although the weather will improve a little in the evening, there is little chance of sunshine this week.
This year, as predicted by the department, the temperature will be above average and the rainfall will be below average in the winter months.
"Today (Tuesday) the temperature has decreased in the coldest center Jomsom, Jiri and Jumla compared to the temperature of the last 2/3 days," she says, "The minimum temperature in Jumla was minus seven degrees Celsius on Monday. Jomsom and Jiri also had minus temperatures. Looking at the minimum temperature on Tuesday, it is minus three degrees Celsius in Jumla.
Similarly, the division said that there is little chance of sunshine throughout this week and the weather will gradually improve.
