The main opposition Maoist Center has demanded that the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives, Rishikesh Pokharel, resign from his post. In Monday's meeting of the Accounts Committee, Maoist Center MP Amanlal Modi said that the wife of the MP who is leading the government was involved in cooperative fraud and the Chairman Pokharel himself asked to resign from the post.

Modi said that a person who has been publicly questioned should not sit on the post of Chairman of the Audit Committee. 'Your family and you are also being questioned about the cooperative. When a question is raised about the chairman of the committee which is supposed to check and balance the government's actions, you have to say something, you have to answer,' he said. 

Modi also said that the Public Accounts Committee has been made a shadow of the government. The question is being raised that the government's shadow Public Accounts Committee is not. He is the chairman of the party leading the government. This needs to be reconsidered. You better pave the way,' he said.
