Prime Minister and Chancellor KP Sharma Oli has appointed Vice Chancellors of Nepal Sanskrit, Agriculture and Forestry and Pokhara University. Prof.Dr. in Nepal Sanskrit University. Dr. Dhaneshwar Nepal, University of Agriculture and Forestry. Sharada Thapalia and Prof.Dr. in Pokhara University. According to the Prime Minister's Secretariat, Vedaraj KC has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor.
Nepal Congress, KC and Thapalia Amalenikat are professors. KC Amalenikat is also the president of Nepal Progressive Professors Association. Sources said that there has been an agreement to appoint vice-chancellors from Kathmandu University and Sanskrit and Congress and Agriculture and UML quotas in Pokhara to fill the vacant vice-chancellor position from January.
Prime Minister Oli has appointed the Vice Chancellor after the selection recommendation committee recommended the name. Although the selection and recommendation committee has issued a procedure for appointing the vice-chancellor on the basis of competition, it has been criticized for giving more marks based on merit.
