MP Amresh Kumar Singh has objected to the non-convening of the meeting of the Public Accounts Committee, which is considered as an important committee under the House of Representatives.

MP Singh claims that there is a danger that the audit committee meeting will not be held until the chairman Rishikesh Pokharel's wife is caught in the cooperative fraud and the government succeeds in removing Kulman Ghising, the executive director of Nepal Electricity Authority.

The last meeting of the Public Accounts Committee was held on August 9. In that meeting, the chairman of the committee, Pokharel, read out the decision to send a letter to the Authority Abuse Investigation Commission and other agencies to take action against Ghising regarding the arrears of the dedicated feeder and trunk line. Even the ruling Congress stood against the Chairman's decision, so the decision could not be made. Since August 9, the meeting of the Audit Committee has not been called.

In the meantime, Anjala Koirala, wife of Chairman Pokharel, was involved in cooperative fraud. Morang District Court has already issued an arrest warrant after Koirala was involved in the embezzlement of the savings of Uma-Gauri Agricultural Cooperative, which was opened at Dhanpalthan-3 in Morang, which was opened by the activism of Chairman Pokharel.

Chairman of the committee Pokhrel told MP Singh that the audit committee meeting was not called for these two reasons. MP Singh, who was present as an amendment to the bill to regulate the formation, operation and conditions of service of the federal civil service, said that the audit committee has become inactive in the Thursday meeting of the state system and good governance committee under the House of Representatives.

'The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee tried to remove Kulman, but could not be removed . After that, the meeting of the committee has not been held," Singh said, referring to the activities in the meeting on August 9, "The decision written by the chairman in the hotel could not be passed by the committee. A decision was taken in writing that Kulman should be sent to CIB, Asset Clearance and Authority to take action. The chairman thought that people like us would allow such a decision.'

Singh also said that the decision to send a letter to various agencies to take action against Ghising was given to them on August 6. "The decision was handed down three days ago and the computer of the committee secretariat was not even used". Only the print was done in the committee by bringing it to a pen drive,' said Singh, 'the audit committee is closed since that decision could not be passed. As long as Kulman is removed and as long as the chairman's wife is involved in cooperative fraud, the audit committee will not run.' Singh also said that the

parliamentary committee was at the whim of the chairman. He said that the Parliamentary Committee has acted according to the law and practice.
