Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology has requested not to close the Thankot-Chitlang road as it will affect the teaching of the university in the name of road improvement. University President Professor Rajendra Dhwaj Joshi issued a statement on Thursday and mentioned that the academic schedule (calendar) of this university cannot be implemented if the road is closed.

"Implementation of the university's academic schedule is a matter of national priority in the higher education sector." One of the major reasons for the large number of students leaving for higher education is the inability of universities to fully implement the academic schedule .

When students leave for higher education, there is a huge negative impact on the development of Nepal when Nepal loses a large amount of money from Videsina as well as many talented young people. Therefore, on behalf of the students, teachers, staff and stakeholders of the university, I sincerely request the entire public to help this university implement the academic schedule,' said Professor Joshi's statement.

As soon as the information about the plan to close the road was received, the university representative contacted Kathmandu Road Division, Kathmandu District Administration Office, Chandragiri Municipality, Thaha Municipality and informed them that the university will not be able to operate if the road is closed. ;

'Kathmandu road division office felt that the concerns of the university were not taken seriously, on December 28, 2081, the university requested the Kathmandu road division for the necessary arrangements to run the university regularly', Professor Joshi said, 'University who participated in the road department consultation meeting. The representative felt that there was no effort from the road division to understand the meaning of the letter. The consultation meeting was not representative. On a sensitive matter like closing the road, without a thorough analysis of the effects of closing the road and alternative measures, despite the disagreement of the university, the decision to recommend closing the road was made at the meeting. Looking at the nature of the meeting, it was clear that the meeting was organized only when the manner was carried out.'
