The commission submitted the property investigation report of the University to the Prime Minister

Tribhuvan University's land and property search commission handed over the report to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday.

In the presence of Minister of Education, Science and Technology Vidya Bhattarai and officials of the university, Mahendra Thapa, a member of the commission, handed over the report at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar. A five-member commission was formed under the coordination of former secretary Sharda Prasad Trital from the Council of Ministers on May 17.

Commission submitted its report to Minister of Education, Science and Technology Vidya Bhattarai on 14th November. After understanding the report, Prime Minister Oli mentioned that a commission has been formed under the coordination of a person capable of investigating the committee and said that the conclusions pointed out in the report will be implemented immediately. Prime Minister and University Chancellor Oli said that the areas that were not and could not be studied by the Commission should be further studied and squeezed.

coordinator Trital was unwell, so member Mahendra Thapa coordinated and finalized the report. The report has also suggested solutions for the situation, misuse and use of land in 21 campuses of Kathmandu Valley including Kirtipur, Naikap, Dhunge Adda, Patan, etc. since the year 2013. The committee has also suggested to send a written report to the Abuse of Authority Commission and the Central Investigation Bureau of the Nepali Police regarding the misuse of land.  In the

investigation, it has been revealed that around 2400 ropani land of Tribhuvan University has been embezzled and encroached upon. The Land Investigation and Search Committee has found that about 1000 ropani of land around the university has been lost, 1000 ropani of land has been encroached on in other places and 400 ropani of land in Lubhu and Pulchok of Lalitpur have been out of use for years. 

The university claims that 3700 ropani land should be under the central office. Out of that, 1,000 saplings were encroached upon and the government formed a high-level investigation committee last May. But the committee has disclosed that another 1400 ropani land has been embezzled and encroached upon. The committee has concluded that about 1000 ropani of Balkhu area has shrunk and 375 ropani of Luvu and 21 ropani of land around Pulchok received from Rajdarbar have also been embezzled. 

Earlier, the details of encroachment of 1,000 Ropani land with the connivance of officials had been made public. Out of this, 125 trees in Naikap, 108 trees in laboratory school in university campus, 150 trees in BP Planetarium office, 24 trees in Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Project, 13 trees in Radhaswami Satsang Vyas, 30 trees by National Ayurveda Research and Training Center have come to the conclusion. . According to the

committee, Horticulture Development Center has encroached 281 acres of land, Kirtipur police circle has encroached 4 acres of land, Nepal Police Circle of Kalimati has encroached 1 acres of land, University Professors, Staff Association, Nepal Professors Association has encroached about 18 acres of land and stone, gravel, and sand depots have encroached 10 acres of land.
