The construction work of Dharahara inaugurated by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on May 11, 2018 has not yet been completed. After the 072 Baisakh earthquake destroyed the tower, a new one was built and inaugurated. Dharahara was erected in 9 years after the earthquake, but the work has not been completed in 6 years since the construction started.

Prakash Aryal, director of the Central Project Implementation Unit (Building and Housing) Project, said that it is now 88 percent. Dharahara was opened on October 3 on the occasion of Constitution Day after the construction of Dharahara's tower and garden was completed. Initially opened for free, a fee has been fixed from last November 9th. 

 

A fee of 200 rupees has been set for citizens above 10 years of age to climb the tower. A 50 percent discount has been arranged for students, senior citizens, disabled. According to the Urban Development Ministry, a fee of Rs 500 per person has been set for tourists coming from SAARC countries and Rs 1000 per person for those coming from non-SAARC countries.

Although three-storey parking has been arranged, it has not yet been put into operation, so the fee has not been collected. About 20,000 people have climbed the Dharahara since the 9th. So far nothing has been done about how to bring water to the Sundhara naturally. He said that the work of making the museum has reached its final stage.
