For the first time, women lead the Federation of Journalists

Nirmala Sharma has been elected as the president of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists. The Central Election Committee announced on Sunday night that Sharma, who had nominated from the joint professional panel of Nepal Press Union and Press Chautari Nepal, was elected as the president.

Elected as the president, Sharma got 4 thousand 282 votes, while her nearest rival Ramesh Bisht got only 3 thousand 203 thousand votes . Bisht contested the election by setting up a panel of working journalists from Press Center Nepal, Press Union Disgruntled Group and other organizations.

Similarly, Deepak Acharya won the position of senior vice president by getting 4230 votes, while his nearest rival Roshan Puri got 2 thousand 886 votes.  Similarly, Neetu Pandit has won for vice president women. He got 4 thousand 705 votes, said the coordinator of the election committee, Professor Chiranjeevi Khanal.

Vice President Umed Bagchan, Vice President Neetu Pandit, General Secretary Ram Prasad Dahal, Secretary Ramesh Khatiwada, Women Secretary Soni Sharma, Tribal Secretary Savin Priyasan, Madhesh Secretary Ashok Tiwari, Dalit Secretary Prakash Dhaulakoti, Associate Baikuntharaj Parajuli, Treasurer Ramakrishna Adhikari have been elected. ;. 

under the 27th Congress of the Federation of Journalists  Elections were held on Friday for the selection of new leadership of the Central Committee, 10 Provincial Committees, 76 District Branches and 41 Foundation Branches.
